Breadth Control Release Date (May20th.2011)

Today, I'm proud to announce my upcoming debut album, under my new extended name: David Vangel, on Equinox Records called “Breadth Control”. The album is a really beautiful collection of 13 tracks and will be available in Vinyl, CD, & Digital formats on May 20th.

Expect some really well produced, mainly sample-based, instrumental music, flavored with jazz vibes, hip hop aesthetics, and brushings of psychedelic vocals. The album artwork, created by The Raincoatman, follows a simple and elegant black & white theme with extensive design. Special design features include: white vinyl and a printed inlay for the LP release, and a custom digipak sleeve for the CD release. Both should be available for pre-order soon.

At the end of the month, look out for the Video produced by Canadian production company: Pistoltrixx, for the first Single off the album. Preview the Tracklisting and more info about the release HERE

peterdeadpan: Revolving Door Video

The Steps Removed EP was my first official solo instrumental release under the alias: peterdeadpan. In 2005, it was originally released as a Limited 100 CD's, and later re-released by 5&1/4 Records as part of their floppy series; which sold out. It's also available Digitally w/ new techni-colour artwork HERE.

Grenade Offensive Music (Greece)

Grenade Offensive came to life in 2008 as a main network to retain two Hellenic (Greek) Independent labels that produce Hip-Hop (Pigi Soundpieces) and Electronica (Bad Brain Productions) and distribute them within Greece. It was not long after they decided on expanding passed their borders and grow into distribution. They have now reached out and managed to distribute into Greece, two of the finest independent labels from Germany: Subversiv-Rec & Equinox Records, and more.

"Elevate" is Frederik Teige's second single from his soon to be released debut LP. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Fred is known as the guitarist for Efterklang's live shows, but is now focussing on his own material.

I loved the song when i first heard it, so a remix was in order. I had alot of fun doing this remix, and was really challenged by the epic buildups and anthemic structure.

Weather Patternings (NomadeRadio GuestMix)

A while ago I was contacted to do a Guest Mix for Nomade Radio, and happily abliged.
The Mix aired live in mid-October on Nomade Radio (CHOQfm, Montreal), PanikRadio (105 Begium), and AfricanRadio (Sierra Leone). I repped a lot of material from the 5and1quarter catalogue, a few of my own remixes, and included a few old favs.

I just did an Interview w/ G from BeatNotik.
Beatnotik was born to an Italian graphic designer based in Barcelona. Inspired by the great passion for hip hop, beats, skateboarding and good vibes. Amongst other things, supporting Underground artists is what they do.
